Welcome to HuLike’s very first blog post. We’re beyond excited to finally hit publish. It’s been a journey just getting started, but here we are: staring at the blank page, trying to fit in with the big spenders. We’re not afraid haha, really, we’re not.
We promise!
Let’s be honest: the idea of humanizing a brand is nothing new. This has existed for a long time, but it’s not as popular yet.
However, according to Wisernotify, 81% of consumers need to trust a brand to consider buying from it, and that is significantly changing the way we do marketing.
So, what does “humanizing your brand” really mean?

The phrase has been floating around the marketing world for a while, but it’s more relevant than ever. Many professionals agree that humanizing your brand is the most powerful way to build genuine connections with your audience, which go beyond algorithms and trends.
To us, humanizing a brand means showing your flaws, speaking like a real person, sharing behind-the-scenes moments, and celebrating the humans who make your business what it is. In short, it’s about letting go of the need to be perfect all the time.
Because let’s face it, we’re human. We mess up. We doubt ourselves. We try again. And trying to hide all of that? It’s exhausting.
The problem is that many companies still cling to a polished, robotic tone in hopes of appearing trustworthy or “professional.” But sometimes, that perfection has the opposite effect, it makes a brand feel distant, inauthentic, or worse, AI-generated.
And here’s the thing: it’s not entirely the company’s fault.
For decades, marketing and advertising professionals have pushed for perfection. We’ve made burgers look bigger, models look thinner, and brands look like they rake in billions. We’ve sold ideals more than reality.
But the truth is, perfection is relative. And most of us define it based on what we’ve been shown on screens: TV, social media, film, advertising. We’ve been conditioned to think that’s what a brand should look like.
So, when we ask companies to “humanize,” it feels radical. Risky, even. Like they’re going against everything they’ve built.
Can any company, no matter how traditional, be more human?

Yes. Absolutely.
The more technical, corporate, or “square” a company is, the more it stands to gain by embracing a more human approach.
Humanizing your brand doesn’t mean ditching your brand guide or posting memes just to be relatable. It means finding the small, consistent ways to bring authenticity into your communication.
It’s a process. One that takes time, intention, and a shift in mindset.
But it’s worth it.
In upcoming posts, we’ll explore how humanizing your brand intersects with content, design, storytelling, and strategy. If that sounds like something you’d enjoy, consider subscribing.
We’re just getting started, and we can’t wait to share more!
